Владимир Познер — сволочь, лжец, пожизненный агент ЦРУ. А не только он... (1)
One late August day in 2002 Lauren brought me the latest edition of the weekly newspaper Аргументы и факты (АиФ). This was a rare event. Her knowledge of Russian was weak, and she did not generally try to read newspapers.
“What's up?” The foul bitch replied that someone had told her about an article concerning me and she had picked up the paper.
Strange. The CIA-controlled Russian mass media had kept me out of the news for several years. Arnold Lockshin for them no longer “existed.”
In a full page article, the following segment appeared:
«В 1986 году к нам переметнулся вместе с семьей доктор Арнольд Локшин, которого преследовали в Америке за его прогрессивные коммунистические убеждения. Позже доктор участвовал в знаменитом телемосте СССР — США, который вели Владимир Познер и Фил Донахью: там Локшин с пеной у рта доказывал преимущества советского образа жизни. В Москве он получил квартиру, дачу и звание профессора, а также престижную работу. Не так давно Познер попытался найти доктора в Москве, но обнаружил, что там его уже нет. Люди, которые знали Арнольда Локшина лично, тоже не в курсе, куда он исчез. По слухам, его дети вернулись в США, а самого Арнольда в последний раз видели в странах, где коммунизм еще жив, на Кубе, а до этого — в Северной Корее».

What to make of this piece of trash? So many lies, so much crap...
I never had a dacha. I never was a professor. I had been fired ignominiously from my “prestigious work.” None of the Lockshin children had left Russia. I was still in Moscow, not in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea or Cuba. My apartment was the same one that I had lived in from 1986 on.... It goes without saying that filthy asshole Познер had not spent even one nanosecond looking for me.
But I knew that something was brewing. First of all, because of the “breaking” of news silence about me. Secondly, because CIA-rat Владимир Познер was involved. Thirdly, because АиФ was the publication of choice.
And because stooge Lauren was the vehicle to deliver this “news” to me.

Some background is necessary.
Познер: He met us shortly after our arrival in Moscow in October, 1986. There were actually two Donohue shows, spaced about a year apart. The first – and more important - program took place a couple of weeks after our arrival, and Познер was not involved. Prior to the broadcast with Donohue for the second program, Владимир conducted a roughly 10-minute interview with us in English, which he then translated into Russian.
АиФ: For the first couple of years or so in Moscow, this loathsome weekly was the secret political police-choice to assess my mood and plans. To discern how I was reacting to the mounting harassment and dirty tricks campaign run by the CIA-KGB against me in the USSR. And above all, to detect whether or not I was ready to give up the ghost and return, disheartened and very resentful, to the US. In and of themselves, these early АиФ articles about me were not bad; otherwise, I would not have continued cooperating with the paper and responding to questions.
Long before the year 2002, I had stopped reading АиФ. It was one of earliest enthusiastic proponents of the lethal “перестройка» and full of laudatory articles about the “wonderful,” “democratic,” etc. USA.
If stooge Brown had not brought the paper to me, I would not have seen the article.
But what was the “message”? Not so easy to discern immediately.

Not incidentally, “democracy” anyone? As of this writing, I have never been able to refute this pernicious АиФ material about me anywhere in the mass media.
