The crucially important main force which engendered and promoted the murderously rapacious Nazi regime was the corporations, banks and government of the United States of America. Great Britain played a secondary, but nonetheless important role. The ruling classes of Western European countries were also involved.

Let us begin with the defeat of Germany (and its allies) in the First World War:
“The Treaty of Versailles was the most important of the peace treaties that brought World War I to an end. The Treaty ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. It was signed on 28 June 1919 in Versailles, France.
“The treaty forced Germany to disarm, make substantial territorial concessions, and pay reparations to certain countries that had formed the Entente powers.” (Treaty of Versailles, Wikipedia) The US signed but did not ratify the Treaty.
Look at the main demilitarization provisions:
«The German army was cut to 100,000 men. Wartime weapons were to be scrapped. The German Navy was cut to 36 ships and no submarines. Germany was banned from having an Air Force. So what? Despite the solemnly signed Versailles Treaty, in the 1930s Nazi Germany massively rearmed. The western imperialist powers were not passive on-lookers in this process. Led by major American corporations, the US was a gigantic force in German rearmament! See my series “Америка и фашизм» plus the later additions.

Massive western involvement in supporting the Nazis and in building up Hitler's powerful military juggernaut are very nearly completely hidden from public discourse.
