California is being hit by a plague of rats. Some have even gone so far as to suggest that the name of Los Angeles should be formally changed to “Los Ratas” because the rat problem is so severe there. From Crescent City in the north all the way down to Chula Vista in the south, the rats are seemingly everywhere. There are millions of them. The state of California has never seen anything like this before, and it is getting worse with each passing month.
It doesn’t help that many California cities have a major trash collection problem. Rat-infested piles of rotting garbage left uncollected by the city of Los Angeles are fueling concerns about a new epidemic after last year’s record number of flea-borne typhus cases. As a result of all the trash and filth, even Los Angeles City Hall has become overrun by rats…

America is getting pooped, thanks to trend-setting California. The Golden State is at the forefront of a defecation crisis which is already overflowing into neighboring states. The Pacific Coast has become the home of the homeless, the nation’s lost souls who apparently have settled for simply existing rather than really living.
Sleeping out in the open spaces and pooping in public places are jarring signs that a segment of society has given up. The demoralizing, downward spiral is likely to accelerate.
Sidewalk cities of makeshift shelters occupied by 36,000 vagabonds have beset residents of Los Angeles, and the homeless count in San Francisco has surpassed 8,000. Neighboring Seattle and Portland have their own dismal warrens of homeless numbering in the thousands. Living rough means doing without the fundamentals of sanitation, like toilets.
On the West Coast, the homeless have warmed to the habit of leaving mushy gifts on streets, in parks and other places where walkers risk an unwelcome surprise.

The president has admitted a profit motive in his battle with Jerome Powell and the Federal Reserve (U.S. central bank).
It’s no secret Trump is profiting from his office. In the latest corrupt gyration of this absurdly corrupt presidency, Trump floated the idea on Monday that the next G7 meeting — of leaders from the most powerful democracies the world — should be held at his very own Doral resort in Florida.
But what if Trump is doing something much bigger than just (“just”) sending lucrative government business to his private luxury properties. What if he’s contorting the global economy to boost the bottom line of his business?
Trump’s highly leveraged businesses could save millions in interest if the Fed continues to cut interest rates. Citing financial disclosures from before Trump took office, the paper reports Trump owed more than $360 million to Deutsche Bank for loans on four properties (including the Doral golf resort) on which he was paying a variable interest rate, pegged to the Fed’s.
“Even now, you know, you see the interest rates,” Trump said. “I’m paying a normalized interest rate. We should be paying less, frankly.”
