Военные США заявили об уверенности в скором начале войны

Почти половина американских военных уверены, что США будут в скором времени вовлечены в крупный военный конфликт. Согласно мнению военнослужащих, это может случиться уже в следующем году. Будет ли это Третья мировая война или локальный конфликт в исследовании не уточняется.

Как пишет Military Times, за два года данной позиции стало придерживаться большее число военнослужащих. Два года назад аналогичное мнение выражали лишь пять процентов респондентов.

В то же время другая половина военнослужащих считает маловероятным начало военных действий. В 2017-м такую оценку давали две трети респондентов.

Опрошенные заявили, что угроза исходит в первую очередь от таких стран, как Россия и Китай.

Ранее жители США заявили, что считают Россию скорее врагом, чем союзником.

How the fascist CIA-FSB connived to steal my life-sustaining funds (2)...


The writing was on the wall. I was going to lose the suit, the law be damned. The big problem was not the privatization agreement itself. The problem was that the hanging judge, after having declared me “guilty,” could have imposed any monetary fine (взыскание) the CIA-FSB ordered.

Moreover, based on this fraudulent “decision,” rat Jeffrey and/or rat Michael could additionally sue me for payment of massive lawyer expenses and God knows what other “damages.” I would be sure to lose; no law, judge or court would have offered me the slightest relief. All the money I had in my bank accounts could have been arrested.

Stealing the money I had secured just a few months earlier was the whole purpose of this contrived court suit. Next in line would have been cancelling my small Russia pension; on any pretext.

I was on the verge of utter poverty – no exit.

I therefore was forced to close my newly-opened bank accounts. Before the court “decision.” But thereby put my life-sustaining funds at high risk for the pig-grabbing - at home or wherever I would be forced to keep my money.

Of course, the stooge hanging-judge had to invent a totally fallacious pretext to obviate my valid legal objection. He relied on rat Jeffrey's patently untrue, completely unsubstantiated and totally irrelevant claim that my presumptive biological “son” had only learned about his “horrible deprivation” a few months earlier. “... о нарушении своего права истцу стало известно в июне 2003 года, согласно действующего законодательства срок исковой давности на спорные правоотношения не распростаняется (sic)»... The date when rat Jeffrey mendatiously “found out” about his great “loss” had nothing to do with the law. It was the date when the privatization contract was actually finalized and signed – nearly 12 years earlier - that was key. “Иск о применении послведствий недействительности ничтожной сделки может быть предъявлен в течение десяти лет со дня, когда началось ее исполнение» (п.1 ст. 181 ГПК РФ). «СО ДНЯ, КОГДА НАЧАЛОСЬ ЕЕ ИСПОЛНЕНИЕ»

Fuck lying, FSB-controlled pig judge Комков! My life-sustaining funds were no longer in the bank to be attached! That was the main thing.

Then, to try and make me feel terrible that I had pulled all my money out, the CIA-FSB ordered the hanging judge to impose a miserly fine of all of 10 rubles (about 30 cents, depending on what the exchange rate was at the time.) And not surprisingly, no damage or other suits have been filed against me – so far, at least.

I had done the only right thing by rescuing my funds. But now the task was to get the money out of the apartment. ASAP.

But where? I had to “deposit” the funds in and around Moscow. Not in any bank, but in locations which – it stands to reason – I will not disclose.

Except for my pension and a little petty cash, I keep no money or valuables at home. Not only treacherous “family” members come crawling around to hunt down what they can steal. The FSB/police are fairly constant uninvited “visitors” as well. Twice they stole small amounts from my apartment.

While I was in the process of hiding my funds in various places, the FSB/police sent teams of pig agents to track me with the aim of specifically locating the money. They in fact found some of my funds and, of course, stole them.

But not enough to make a serious difference in my modest life style.

When you are fighting the ruthless and well-provisioned fascist monsters of the secret political police, some losses are virtually unavoidable.

Saudis Transfer $100 Million To US State Department As Khashoggi Crisis Deepens

When US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo flew into Riyadh to discuss the disappearance and likely death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Saudi Arabia transferred $100m to the State Department for US efforts against the Islamic State (IS) group.

While the funding was approved earlier in the summer, critics have viewed the timing of the transfer payment with suspicion. “The timing of this is no coincidence,” a US official told the New York Times.

The White House has not seemed alarmed amid a barrage of questions about Khashoggi's disappearance, what Saudi officials know about it and its close ties to Saudi rulers and the country's powerful crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, in particular.

US President Donald Trump has called for people to give the Saudis the benefit of the doubt, stressing Washington's business and geopolitical interests in staying close to Riyadh.

Trump tweeted that he spoke to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who "totally denied any knowledge of what took place" in Istanbul. Trump said MBS told him "that he has already started, and will rapidly expand, a full and complete investigation into this matter".

After Pompeo's meetings with the king and crown prince on Tuesday, Pompeo said Saudi Arabia has committed to conducting a full investigation. Asked whether they said Khashoggi was alive or dead, Pompeo said: "They didn't talk about any of the facts."

Saudi officials have strongly denied any involvement in Khashoggi's disappearance and say that he left the consulate soon after arriving. However, they have not presented any evidence to corroborate their claim and say that video cameras at the consulate were not recording at the time.

How the fascist CIA-FSB connived to steal my life-sustaining funds (1)...


With my Russian паспорт problem solved, the fascist CIA-FSB had to search for new approaches to destroy Arnold Lockshin. Their favorite “modus operandi, the “indirect approach” (Silent Terror, p. 91) came into play. In this case, the pretext was the filing of a malicious legal suit which could cause me to lose everything I had in my bank accounts – unless I preemptively withdrew these life-sustaining funds.


The casus belli was the long past privatization of our apartment. Many millions of Russians rushed to privatize their apartments as a measure of protection after the USSR was destroyed and the new CIA-Ельцин capitalist era was thrust on the Russian people.

Who in the “family” could own our newly privatized apartment? At the time we filed these documents, presumptive biological “daughter” Jennifer was old enough to qualify as a co-owner, while presumptive biological “son” Jeffrey just missed the age qualification. Presumptive biological “son” Michael was even younger and thus had been totally out of the co-owner bracket.

All of this was essentially a technicality, as all the presumptive “children” were registered at our apartment and all had and have the right to reside in it at any time. At the time of the privatization process I in fact tried to include presumptive “son” Jeffrey as a co-owner, but was rebuffed by the Moscow city housing authorities. A few years later, I repeated the effort - this time for both presumptive “sons” - but again got a negative response from the powers-that-be.

We jump ahead 12 years in time. In early 2004, only a couple of months after my passport problem had been solved, the CIA-FSB ordered rat “son” Jeffrey to file a suit against me, alleging that he was wrongly excluded from co-ownership of our aparment as prior permission from the “органы опеки и попечительства» (governmental child protection agency) had not been obtained. That procedure was not even in place when we privatized our aparment in 1992!


Based on this technicality, rat Jeffrey claimed that his rights were “violated” and he accordingly demanded a revocation of the privatization agreement. Rat Michael supported (третье лицо) the suit against me.

The big legal hole in this concocted contention was that the privatization agreement had been concluded on March 24, 1992 and Jeffrey filed suit much later - in January 2004. The maximum statute of limitations (срок исковой давности) to legally object was 10 years! “Иск о применении послведствий недействительности ничтожной сделки может быть предъявлен в течение десяти лет со дня, когда началось ее исполнение» (п.1 ст. 181 ГПК РФ).

By law, Jeffrey was almost two years too late. I wanted to check my conclusion with an attorney. Naturally, calling anyone from the house was excluded, as the CIA-FSB continually taps my telephone. Outside public phones at that time were still fairly prevalent, and I was thus able to arrange an appointment with a lawyer. He emphatically agreed with my assessment that time had run out for the plaintiff. Moreover, he informed me that the judge would have to rule immediately on the statute of limitations disqualification.

That was the one and only legal consultation I had (or needed). The FSB, somewhat belatedly, ordered all Moscow lawyers - including the one I had just consulted – on various pretexts not to consult with me.

At the court session, I immediately presented my Ходатайство invoking the statute of limitations provision to the judge and demanded an immediate ruling. Contrary to the law, the judge refused to do so. Obviously, he needed some time to invent a fraudulent response to the law's very clear language.

“Not everything goes by the (law) book,” the prostitute judge cynically replied.

Which is absolutely true. For the Gestapo, the law is not something passed by a legislative body and signed by a president nor something found in law books. The law is whatever the secret political police – American or American-Russian – say it is. And the hanging judge was under their orders.

Jeffrey was not present in court. He was represented by lawyer Молчанов ДВ. During the court session – knowing that I could not be at home – the rat came to the apartment and stole the portable xerox machine I had bought to simplify copying documents. According to Russian law, he was allowed to only remove his personal things (clothes, books, etc.). Jeffrey is also rat-thief.

Trump Stays Silent On Saudi Cash In His Own Pocket

The president claims Saudi Arabia is buying $110 billion in arms, but it stands at $14.5 billion. And he personally has reaped tens of millions of dollars in Saudi business.
As President Donald Trump defends maintaining close ties to Saudi Arabia, he has repeatedly exaggerated ― by 700 percent ― the value of U.S. weapon sales to Riyadh, yet he has not mentioned the amount of money Saudis have put into his own pocket.
From the first days that Saudi involvement in the disappearance of U.S. resident and journalist Jamal Khashoggi became clear, Trump has attempted to downplay it based on pending arms sales to the kingdom: “$110 billion worth of military,” he said again Thursday. “Those are the biggest orders in the history of this country, probably the history of the world.”

That number, though, is nowhere near accurate. In reality, only $14.5 billion in weapon sales have been approved by the Trump administration and Congress. The remainder is largely aspirational and years away from fruition.

What Trump does not talk about is a different potential explanation for his repeated defenses of Saudi King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman: The many tens of millions of dollars the royal family and its friends and allies have spent on Trump condominiums and at Trump hotels.
“This is a case where conflicts of interest can kill,” said Walter Shaub, who resigned as director of the Office of Government Ethics after Trump and White House officials refused to accept his guidance. Shaub said that if Saudi Arabia’s ruling family can get away with the alleged murder of a Virginia-based journalist for a major American newspaper for the relatively small price of soliciting Trump properties, other dictators would see it as a green light.

From the sale of his 291-foot yacht to a Saudi prince in 1991, when Trump was facing personal bankruptcy, to the sale of the entire 45th floor of one of his New York City buildings to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the hosting of large entourages of Saudis at his hotels in New York and Chicago over the past year, Shaub said, Trump has more than an incidental relationship with the country and its leaders. They’re clearly a valued customer of his, Possibly his most valued customer.

How much money Trump is personally making from the Saudi government and Saudi nationals cannot be known with precision because Trump has refused to release his tax returns ― even though he once promised he would. His failure to do so broke established precedent followed by every major candidate since the Watergate era.

Multiple reports in the past day say that Turkish officials have audio of Khashoggi being tortured, murdered and dismembered, all within a few minutes of entering the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2.

Trump has been more interested in protecting Salman and his son than uncovering the truth about Khashoggi. Trump even invented an explanation that Khashoggi may have been murdered by “rogue killers.”

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, ostensibly dispatched to Saudi Arabia to get to the bottom of Khashoggi’s disappearance, was instead photographed laughing and smiling during his meeting with Mohammed bin Salman. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert, meanwhile, posted a photo of herself on social media enjoying her visit to the royal court in Riyadh.

Time to end the dangerous farce (2)...


It was high time to shit or get off the pot.

While would-be murderous CIA-whore Lauren Brown was away, I gathered up my bankbooks and with my паспорт in hand I withdrew all the funds in my accounts,

Earning banking interest no longer concerned me! Closing one's accounts early (досрочно) in Russia was not an instantaneous process, and this first stage took nearly two days.


Then I had to urgently cancel my general доверенность in her name. This was vital above all to prevent the CIA-bitch from dispossessing me of my share of our apartment or even selling it. “Homeless Arnold” was not my cup of tea.

According to Russian law, this доверенность cancellation could only be effected by the very same notary with whom we had earlier concluded powers-of-attorney. And whom did I meet there? CIA-slut Lauren Brown – in person. Also to cancel the general доверенность - the one she had written for me.

How did she learn what was up? Not complicated. The nazi FSB, pig-fucking stooges for the nazi CIA, keep a close real-time electronic-computerized watch on my banking – as virtually on all my affairs. Here I was rapidly closing all my bank accounts just before the period was up for the obligatory handing in of my passport.

Possible danger ahead for the slut: with her power-of-attorney (доверенность) empowering me to act in her name, I had the legal right to withdraw Lauren's bank accounts as well.

The CIA-FSB bastards rushed the news to Brown and told her to immediately cancel all the powers-of-attorney she had awarded to me.

So I had no more access to her accounts – even though some of that was my money. Not a big problem. I had rescued enough funds on hand to survive at least several years, new Russian passport or no. I had saved myself from starvation and utter disaster.

And another big bonus: prostitute-stooge Brown moved out of our apartment permanently. As she was legally registered (прописана) at our common living quarters, up to that point I had not found a way to dispose of her.

Naturally, after this episode was over, problems with receiving my new паспорт evaporated. Yeltsin's указ was “found,” the procedure suddenly moved on smoothly, and in December 2003, I received my new Russian паспорт.

In other words, the CIA-FSB felt compelled to make a defined tactical retreat. Of course, they still had exacted a presumed psychological toll on me, counting on threats and induced anxiety to contribute to wearing me down and eventually breaking me. Subjecting the victim to repeated, relentless stress and worry is an integral part of their malicious game plan.

For the vast majority of American and Amerian-Russian Gestapo victims, the situation is much, much worse. These victims have no idea who/what is behind their never-ending, excrutiating difficultes nor what to expect next. That is what was intended for me, too.

As it turned out, the American-Russian secret political police now had no grand victory in hand through denying me my essential new passport.

Had I not rescued funds from the banks, I may well have never received my passport-identification!

My partial victory to be sure, but the battle was far, far from over. The vicious psychological warfare campaign against me simply moved to new arenas.

Армия США готовится к вероятной войне с Россией. Об этом каналу Today заявил генерал-майор американских Военно-воздушных сил.

По словам Клея Гаррисона, совместные военные учения США, Украины, Польши и Румынии «Чистое небо — 2018» призваны, согласно плану министра обороны Джеймса Мэттиса, подготовить армию к возможному конфликту с Россией либо Китаем.

Участие в маневрах Украины генерал-майор объяснил тем, что на вооружении ее Воздушных сил стоят самолеты, аналогичные тем, что используют россияне и китайцы.

В свою очередь, президент Украины Петр Порошенко назвал на своей странице в фейсбуке целью «Чистого неба — 2018» демонстрацию России того, что за авиаудары по Украине она заплатит «очень высокую цену».

Time to end the dangerous farce... (1)


The Soviet/Russian passport...


For an American (and, no doubt, for other countries') readers, a few words may be necessary to explain the importance of the паспорт – passport in Russia.

In the US, a passport is a document required for international travel, not basically for internal use. The US passport generally corresponds to the Russian загранпаспорт (for foreign travel), and most Americans do not even possess their own country's passport.

In Russia, the situation is much different. It is not an exaggeration to say that without your паспорт, for any official business you are virtually no one. One's identification is by one's паспорт. Without it, you cannot withdraw money from your own bank account, you cannot file a suit in court, you cannot vote, you cannot receive your pension and so on. You simply cannot identify yourself.

If you lose your паспорт – by theft or whatever – there are procedures to obtain a new one. But they are not simple and can be easily blocked by the secret political police. As I pointed out in part 12 of this series, I had to undergo a long and difficult battle to obtain Russian citizenship and thus my паспорт.

For years after the fall of the Soviet Union, the old Soviet паспорт continued serving as the de facto Russian passport. But later it became necessary for everyone to exchange his/her old Soviet паспорт for a new Russian one, and in 2003 the allotted time period for effecting this replacement was ending. The process itself was not an instant exchange; you had to submit your Soviet паспорт to the паспортный стол (local passport office), which would then transmit it to the appropriate governmental department. After a few weeks, a normal citizen – i.e., someone not persecuted by the secret political police - could go to the local police station (in my case, at least) and obtain his/her new паспорт. In the interim, formally in society you were virtually “nobody” (as indicated above).

Worse than that for me. In my making preliminary inquiries, the паспортный стол let it be known that the governmental authorities looking into my case “could not find” any record of Yeltsin's указ (decree) awarding me citizenship in 1992 (a lie, of course). Without that information, they would not issue me a new паспорт!

Trouble for me was obviously brewing; the CIA-FSB leave no stone unturned. That proposition itself was nonsense. According to Russian law, one's паспорт itself is prima facie evidence of citizenship. That is to say, the fact that I had a паспорт could only mean either (a) that I had forged it – a serious crime or (b) that I was a citizen. Yeltsin's указ was already history – and searching for it was patently redundant. At the same time, it would go beyond the grounds of credibility to charge me with somehow having counterfeited my паспорт and gotten away with it for over ten years.


Why this explanation? To indicate that for an indefinite – and perhaps extended – period of time in the year 2003 (and possibly well beyond, possibly forever!) I was going to be legally totally incapacitated. There was no getting around it. If I did not turn in my old Soviet паспорт, I would be no better off. That old document was on the verge of becoming irreversibly obsolete and of no value.

Meanwhile, at home I had a vicious CIA-directed snake ready to pounce on my unavoidable upcoming incapacity. CIA-whore Brown had not become a citizen and her Вид на жительство remained valid.

More than that. We had mutual доверенности (multiple powers of attorney), which legally allowed either of us to effect any banking or any other legal transaction in the other's name. In principle, I could also do this, but only with a valid паспорт on hand.

Arnold Lockshin was in potential deep, deep shit. For me, starvation and even worse was on the horizon.


Look at the facts. (1) The CIA-FSB had had me fired from the cancer center; (2) the CIA-FSB prevented me from earning a living by teaching English or in any way using my language skills; (3) the CIA could easily stop my Social Security retirement benefits – which in fact they did at the end of that very year (2003) ! (4) Without my паспорт, I could not even collect my Russian pension.


I would lose everything and become utterly penniless. Filthy slut Lauren Brown could easily clean out my bank accounts and even take my pension.

For all that, Brown could – and probably would – leave the country with the loot and go back to the US. Where she, in glaring contrast to what my fate would have been, would be received with open, welcoming arms.

And possibly take the Lockshin children with her. Or not. They had already sold their souls and could remain in Russia if they chose. No difference for me, one way or the other.

Arnold Lockshin: all alone, completely broke, hungry – and no one to appeal to.

Oh, the Pozner – АиФ ditty about me? (see part 15 of this series)

That was to instill in me the preconditioned presentiment that my life was about to end. Filthy, dirty psychological warfare in the form of suggestions and inferences. To intensify anticipated intense feelings of self-guilt and overwhelming despair and self-hatred: “I should have seen it coming. Oh God, why didn't I see it?”

“Suggestion is indeed a potent tool of manipulation... to succeed in getting the individual to act in the desired manner by exploiting the latter's predispositions and preconditioning” (Propaganda comes of age, Michael Choukas, 1965, p. 206).

One last, slight ray of hope? “But maybe I can escape to Cuba or North Korea (imparted suggestion as per Pozner-АиФ).”

Ah, these routes also would have been blocked; more on this aspect later.

The highly focused goal was to leave an utterly despairing Arnold Lockshin only one choice: death – through suicide.

Who would have blamed the CIA-FSB? No one, precisely no one.

The Trump era is full of cruelty without consequence

Whatever the consequences of the Saudi Arabian regime’s suspected murder of Jamal Khashoggi, President Trump’s response indicated much about the priorities of his “America First” foreign policy. His instincts were commercial and transactional — he voiced a concern that the United States might lose defense contracts with the Saudi government. “I don’t like stopping massive amounts of money that’s being poured into our country,” he said. Trump’s reaction was nativist, as he pointed out that “Khashoggi is not a United States citizen.” And after consulting with the Saudi king, the president seemed determined to provide an alibi, raising the prospect of “rogue killers.”

There is little doubt that Trump has reduced the cost of oppression and political murder in the world. And when you reduce the cost of something, you get more of it.

The story of a journalist killed while picking up documents for his wedding is particularly powerful. But the aggregation of such horrors — the sum of killing and human misery at this historical moment — is stunning. The Trump era is also — perhaps not coincidentally — the age of mass atrocities. And the United States’ president is not ashamed of it.

There is the Saudi war in Yemen, which has caused massive displacement, hunger and disease. The Trump administration has certified that the Saudis are taking sufficient measures to prevent civilian casualties. The U.S. military provides aerial refueling support for bombing raids. The United Nations, meanwhile, has accused Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates of war crimes, including arbitrary detention, torture and rape.

Syria remains a bleeding wound. Hundreds of thousands have died. More than 5 million people have left the country as refugees. More than 6 million are internally displaced. During the largest refugee crisis since World War II, Trump has turned these suffering people into political scapegoats.

Then there is the ongoing ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya people in Myanmar — involving the burning of villages, rape and attacks on civilians — which has caused more than 700,000 people to flee their homes. According to a State Department report, “Multiple witnesses report soldiers throwing infants and small children into open fires or burning huts.” Yet the Trump administration has refused to designate these as “crimes against humanity” or “genocide.”

Then there is South Sudan’s five-year civil war, in which perhaps 380,000 people have died and 2.5 million people have fled the country.

These global horrors don’t even register in the president’s priorities.

Pig Pozner was not finished with me.

His dirty contribution to the dirty piece published in dirty Аргументы и факты (see Part 15) had considerable intended significance in the psychwar campaign against me, as will be explained in the next post.

Some years later as part of a lengthy interview, Pozner farted out the following “observation”:


«- Было время, когда Вы проводили телемосты Россия - Америка. Тогда большой резонанс получила история семьи Локшиных. В те времена, когда все стремились уехать из СССР в другие страны, эта семья, наоборот, перебралась из Америки в Советский Союз. Вам что-нибудь о ней известно?»


Познер: «Сам Локшин был членом ЦК американской коммунистической партии, но он был исключен за крайнюю догматичность. Это вообще очень интересно, ведь более догматичной партии вообще трудно найти. Они приехали потому, что в Америке им делать было нечего. Локшин работал в Онкологическом центре, если я не ошибаюсь, по образованию он был фармацевт. После изменений, которые произошли у нас в стране - полагаю, что он этого не принял, и не знаю точно, но думаю, что они уехали, может быть в Китай, может быть в Северную Корею, может быть на Кубу. Из Америки он уехал потому, что был параноиком, ему казалось, что за ним следят, это было вполне возможно, ведь он все-таки был членом ЦК Коммунистической партии США, там за коммунистами следили. На самом деле он был, конечно, параноиком, очень всего боялся и просто бежал оттуда. На мой взгляд, совершенно безосновательно. This filthy bullshit is not only an attack on me, but a routine example of Pozner's full-throated defense of United States imperialism and its perverted, fake “democracy.”


Any complaints about the US police state dictatorship are “совершенно безосновательно”. Even though “там за коммунистами следили”.


Then there is the stock US political police rationale – repeated over and over at the time in the vicious, lying American mass media - of why I left my native land: “он был, конечно, параноиком”. In his short piece, rat Pozner hits on my alleged “paranoia” twice. It may surprise some people to learn that Владимир Познер has no training or background in medicine in general, psychiatry in particular. And I assure the reader that I have never been shit-eating liar, lifelong CIA stooge “Dr.” Pozner's patient!


The comments about my relation with the so-called “Communist Party USA” are also fiction (see Part 2 of this series).


This lying rat – constantly featured on CIA-controlled Russian TV – poops another gem: “они уехали, может быть в Китай, может быть в Северную Корею, может быть на Кубу”.


Not so incidentally, I do not have and never have had either a Soviet or a Russian загранпаспорт, which would be essential for foreign travel.

At that time, the internet was fairly replete with oh-so-knowledgeable blogs and commentaries similar to rodent-liar Pozner's about how “crazy” Lockshin had left Russia. It is reasonable to assume that some of this crap was based on generated non-specific ignorance. At the same time, the US – and Russian – secret political police continually flood the web with blogs and commentaries aimed at disorientation. On a multitude, multitude of issues.

Professional CIA-liar Pozner's comment fits in the latter category.

San Francisco Is Now 'Dung Capital' Of USA

San Francisco is covered by poop, dog and human poop. According to the San Francisco Department of Animal, there are around 120,00 dogs in San Francisco. In addition, there are over 7,000 homeless individuals in San Francisco. Sounds a lot better than New York and Los Angeles. But the lack of shelters and a better system is putting the city in danger.

The Californian city is the "Doo-Doo Capital in the U.S."

"Living in a shitty neighborhood has a whole new meaning for San Franciscans," RealtyHop states. “While one would assume that lower-income neighborhoods might experience worse poop issues, that is not the case in San Francisco," according to the website. "It seems that the poop crisis in San Francisco reflects more so a social crisis."

San Francisco's comfortable climate has made it a mecca for the country's homeless. Out of the 7,499 homeless people recorded in 2017, about 58%, or 4,353 people, were masked as unsheltered, which has spurred tent cities across the downtown.

Data compiled by RealtyHop shows the number of poop complaints has jumped from 2011 to 2018, and the number almost tripled -- from 5,606 to 20,899 -- from 2011 to 2017. Researchers say 16,310 complaints have been logged in so far this year, which may indicate 2018 could be the shittest on record.

None of this is surprising as the cost of living continues to soar, leaving many residents left behind in the broken economy. Rising wealth, health, and education inequalities have driven the city to a breaking point, where low-income people have now been forced to live in tent cities and or their automobile.

"It's a kind of middle-class homelessness," writes Steve Lopez in the Los Angeles Times.

San Francisco covered in poop seems to be the result of a widening wealth inequality crisis. There are no indications the wealth gap will normalize, as the shit storm is expected to get worse.

One late August day in 2002 Lauren brought me the latest edition of the weekly newspaper Аргументы и факты (АиФ). This was a rare event. Her knowledge of Russian was weak, and she did not generally try to read newspapers.

“What's up?” The foul bitch replied that someone had told her about an article concerning me and she had picked up the paper.

Strange. The CIA-controlled Russian mass media had kept me out of the news for several years. Arnold Lockshin for them no longer “existed.”

In a full page article, the following segment appeared:

«В 1986 году к нам переметнулся вместе с семьей доктор Арнольд Локшин, которого преследовали в Америке за его прогрессивные коммунистические убеждения. Позже доктор участвовал в знаменитом телемосте СССР — США, который вели Владимир Познер и Фил Донахью: там Локшин с пеной у рта доказывал преимущества советского образа жизни. В Москве он получил квартиру, дачу и звание профессора, а также престижную работу. Не так давно Познер попытался найти доктора в Москве, но обнаружил, что там его уже нет. Люди, которые знали Арнольда Локшина лично, тоже не в курсе, куда он исчез. По слухам, его дети вернулись в США, а самого Арнольда в последний раз видели в странах, где коммунизм еще жив, на Кубе, а до этого — в Северной Корее».

What to make of this piece of trash? So many lies, so much crap...


I never had a dacha. I never was a professor. I had been fired ignominiously from my “prestigious work.” None of the Lockshin children had left Russia. I was still in Moscow, not in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea or Cuba. My apartment was the same one that I had lived in from 1986 on.... It goes without saying that filthy asshole Познер had not spent even one nanosecond looking for me.


But I knew that something was brewing. First of all, because of the “breaking” of news silence about me. Secondly, because CIA-rat Владимир Познер was involved. Thirdly, because АиФ was the publication of choice.

And because stooge Lauren was the vehicle to deliver this “news” to me.

Some background is necessary.

Познер: He met us shortly after our arrival in Moscow in October, 1986. There were actually two Donohue shows, spaced about a year apart. The first – and more important - program took place a couple of weeks after our arrival, and Познер was not involved. Prior to the broadcast with Donohue for the second program, Владимир conducted a roughly 10-minute interview with us in English, which he then translated into Russian.

АиФ: For the first couple of years or so in Moscow, this loathsome weekly was the secret political police-choice to assess my mood and plans. To discern how I was reacting to the mounting harassment and dirty tricks campaign run by the CIA-KGB against me in the USSR. And above all, to detect whether or not I was ready to give up the ghost and return, disheartened and very resentful, to the US. In and of themselves, these early АиФ articles about me were not bad; otherwise, I would not have continued cooperating with the paper and responding to questions.

Long before the year 2002, I had stopped reading АиФ. It was one of earliest enthusiastic proponents of the lethal “перестройка» and full of laudatory articles about the “wonderful,” “democratic,” etc. USA.

If stooge Brown had not brought the paper to me, I would not have seen the article.

But what was the “message”? Not so easy to discern immediately.

“Psychological preconditioning and manipulation through stimuli, suggestion and indirection...

“'People are not told directly: “Act in this or that way.” A psychological... stratagem is found to produce the desired reaction.'” (Jacques Ellul quoted in Georgi Arbatov, The War of Ideas in Contemporary International Relations, 1973, p. 20) (Silent Terror, p. 89)

What was the “desired reaction”? More on this later.

When you consider the actions CIA Director Gina Haspel engaged in, it is impossible to conclude anything but that Haspel committed war crimes of the gravest kind and then helped destroy the evidence of them. There is no defense under the law in which a war criminal can claim that he or she was merely following orders. No one would have been found guilty at Nuremberg if that were the case. There are equally no extenuating circumstances that can ever justify torture, according to the U.N. Convention: “No exceptional circumstances whatsoever, whether a state of war or a threat of war, internal political instability or any other public emergency, may be invoked as a justification of torture.”

Nor is it possible for any human being to read what was done to these prisoners without concluding that this was torture. If an American were captured by ISIS, was waterboarded 83 times, hung from the ceiling by his wrists, locked into a tiny box for days, and turned into a shell of a human being, would any American deny that he was tortured? The question answers itself.

President Obama gave complete legal immunity for war crimes committed by the CIA. Haspel then will not be prosecuted, as she should be. She was not fired; no one, in fact, was disciplined for these atrocities. But to actually reward someone who has committed war crimes with promotion, and then to elevate her to the highest position in Western intelligence, is a whole new level of depravity.

It sends a very clear message: that anyone committing war crimes in the future will be celebrated, not disciplined, rewarded, not punished, that torture is justifiable, even worth reviving, as our Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, opined. It would amount to a full-on endorsement of torture by the United States, and a signal to the entire world that it can be justified. It would be the final nail in the coffin that used to be the West.

Maybe in the era of Trump, that coffin is already covered in dirt.

Никому не нужен носитель английского языка?


Затем, за последние примерно 18 лет я - говорящий по-русски уроженец США, доктор наук - не могу устроиться на любую работу во всей Москве с использованием своего знания языков. Ни как преподаватель английского, ни как переводчик, ни как редактор материала, написанного на английском, ни в любой сфере общественной жизни. Нигде.

Native English speakers in Moscow are sought after. In commercial, banking and other circles, the English language is in high demand. The English and Russian languages share some minor similarities, but in the big picture they are widely different: grammar, syntax, pronunciation... Native English speakers here are at a premium.

A native American couple arrives in Moscow. They both are college educated; the husband in fact has a doctorate (Ph.D.) Degree. The husband speaks, writes and knows the Russian language considerably better than the “wife” - an important attribute when teaching English to native Russian speakers.

But only one of them – the “wife” - can permanently find lucrative work giving private English lessons. Although the CIA-”wife” does not speak, write, know or teach the English language one iota better than the husband!

But he is a pariah. The contrast is sharp. Well, there were a couple or so years of his teaching at for-pay English language schools, but these teaching experiences were at first difficult and then virtually impossible. Students created distractions and disturbances; not a few students stopped coming to their pre-paid sessions. He was cheated in his salary. His native American pronunciation was nastily criticized as somehow “faulty”! Eventually, his services were “not needed” by anyone. Anywhere.

All this harassment, difficulties and curtailment of work were engineered by the Russian secret political police under the direction of the American secret political police. No other explanation is logical. In school and the university, I had always received the highest marks for English. I have written dozens and dozens of English-language published articles – scientific, political, journalistic... Moreover, I am a good teacher.

Year after year CIA-slut Lauren Brown earned a minimum of $1,800 a month* teaching English to the wife of a big-time Moscow banker.** A chauffer drove her to and from the teaching job. Brown earned considerable additional money giving other private lessons.

$1,800 a month was – and still is – substantial money in Russia. Not super big money, of course. But for comparison, my monthly Russian pension on which I live is only about $300 in the dollar equivalent.

For the past approximately 18 years I have not had a single opportunity to use my excellent knowledge of English in any earning capacity: not as a teacher, translator, editor...

Even more striking: twice I offered to give occasional English lessons for free. Turned down.

An unavoidable contradiction had popped up. Brown was given a very soft and well-paying job to maintain the required better-than-average lifestyle for the rotten CIA whore – while I was being deprecated on all sides. Yet we were living together, so my standard of living was no worse then hers: a psychological – and material - incentive to stick with the filthy whore.

Until I dumped the dangerous and repugnant enemy in my midst.

The insults, harassment and eventual end of my English-teaching “career” was not only to deprive me of a personal source of income, but to also thrust me into isolation.

And more than even that. To further instill in me a feeling of self-doubt. That somehow I was an inadequate teacher of English – and inadequate in everything generally – as also “proven” by my nasty firing at the cancer center (Section 13 in this series).

“Loss of self-esteem... Another aspect of FBI-organized psychological warfare is the concerted attempt to destroy the target's self-esteem... Attacks on the target's self-esteem can take place in countless ways: exclusion from events and conversations, allusions to personal problems, fears or sore points – all this and more... ploys were aimed at testing to what degree we had lost confidence in our memory, our thought processes and ourselves.” (Silent Terror, pp. 99-100)


The eventual aim was not only to starve me out – should I break with the CIA-fashioned “wife”. But to then force total isolation on me.

Starvation for me is highly unlikely.

Loss of my self-esteem will not happen. By recognizing the secret political police-source of these foul schemes, I in fact gain confidence in the correctness of my beliefs and actions. Why else would the bastards attack me so hard and so often?

Isolation is tolerable. Immeasurably better than living with enemy.

America has now passed the 17-year mark in Afghanistan. U.S. troops have been fighting there for longer than the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I, and World War II combined. Yet Washington is further away than ever from anything that might pass for victory.

More than 2,300 American military personnel and 3,500 contractors have died in Afghanistan. Another 1,100 allied soldiers have been killed, almost half of them from the United Kingdom. More than 20,000 Americans have been wounded. The direct financial cost has amounted to $2 trillion, with another $45 billion budgeted for this year.

And for what?

The Bush administration immediately turned to Iraq, which had nothing to do with 9/11. That shift allowed for a Taliban revival. Even after twice increasing force levels—which peaked at 110,000 U.S. and 30,000 allied troops in 2011—the Obama administration was only able to limit the insurgency’s reach.

Over the last four years, U.S. officials figure the number of Taliban fighters has trebled to 60,000; Afghan sources put the number closer to 80,000. Estimates of government control are inflated by counting areas where the district headquarters is in Kabul’s hands, even if the rest of the territory is not. The insurgents have pushed beyond their traditional southern stronghold into eastern western and northern parts of the country. The Taliban now holds more territory than in any year since 2001.

Injured Afghan soldiers say they are fighting a more sophisticated and well-armed insurgency than they have seen in years. Even Kabul is unsafe: Washington now takes personnel to the airport via helicopter, avoiding the roads. One need look no further than the Department of Defense for bad news. In May, the Pentagon’s inspector general reported that “available metrics showed few signs of progress.” Overall, the “surge” in U.S. forces in Afghanistan failed to have a lasting effect and the levels of violence have grown sharply.

Money offers no answer. The Afghan government is incompetent, divided, and corrupt. The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction continues to issue reports detailing massive waste and ineffectiveness of programs for everything from development to security.

In short, the future looks dismal. The overall situation in Afghanistan will very likely continue to deteriorate. Best would be a swift exit.

But reality has little influence on U.S. policy. Both old and new military commanders, as well as administration officials led by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, claim that administration strategy is succeeding. The president bumped up troop levels to some 15,000 U.S. and 7,000 allied personnel. “Our troops will fight to win,” he said. Alas, this is errant nonsense. The most the new policy will do is put off failure until the next president takes office.

This tragic nation has little to do with terrorism. These days the most vibrant extremidy branch is al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which has been empowered by the U.S.-backed Saudi and Emirati onslaught against Yemen.

At 17 years and counting, it is far past time to bring America home.

Уволен — Не Только в США


«Рекомендация — Характеристика: А.Локшин — грамотный специалист, умелый руководитель. Директор ВОНЦ АМН академик АМН Н.Н. Трапезников»


По приказу подконтрольной ЦРУ (США) секретной политической полиции в России - Федеральной службы «безопасности» ФСБ - я был уволен с онкологического центра и в Москве. Без внятной причины; просто «реорганизация».


Увольнение было незаконно.


Из «Исполнительного листа по гражданскому делу Именем Российской Федерации»:


«Нагатинский межмуниципальный районный народный суд ЮАО г. Москвы 03/06/1998 рассмотрел гражданское дело по иску (требованию) Локшина Арнольда к Онкологическому научному центру им. Н.Н. Блохина о восстановлении на работе и взыскании заработной платы за время вынужденного прогула.


Суд решил восстановить Локшина Арнольда в должности заведующего лаборатории биохимических механизмов действия противоопухолевых препаратов с 18.01.1998г....


Решение суда подлежит немедленному исполнению».


Очень странно уволить руководителя лабораторией из государственного учреждения. Особенно без причин.


Еще странно то, что остался всего лишь один год до приобретения права на пенсию по старости.


А совсем не странно то, что подчиненная ЦРУ здешняя секретная политическая полиция ФСБ грубо и бессовестно приказала меня уволить.

It's safe to presume that Arnold Lockshin belongs in the Guinness World Records for being the only head of a cancer laboratory fired without cause in more than one country.

Firing the nead of cancer research laboratory – anywhere – is a very rare event. I do not know of any similar abrupt dismissals, although, admittedly, some very strange and exceptional case may have occurred somewhere, sometime.

Both my firings had no basis in my work performance. Both were dictated by the same evil source – the US secret political police. Presumably the CIA.

And in Russia effected by the CIA-stooge secret police – the FSB (ФСБ = Федеральная служба «безопасности» России).

Nothing about my cancer research work at ВОНЦ – later renamed as the Онкологический научный центр им. Н.Н. Блохина – had been easy. All the while I was head of my laboratory, the CIA-KGB-FSB did what they could to complicate – if not completely frustrate – the research.

The original operating assumption was that I would be forced back to America. Through various pretexts, nearly a year's delay was fashioned before I could even start work.

My laboratory co-workers were under the orders of the CIA - directed Russian secret political police. Naturally. Among them was “hard-line communist,” then American resident, rotten CIA stooge Марк Шлянкевич. See my series of posts “Марк Шлянкевич — Ещё Один Грязный Агент ЦРУ».

Nonetheless, I was able to publish several scientific papers (see previous posts 12A and 12B), which I regard as highly useful.

By 1998, when I was peremptorily fired, the CIA-FSB had effectively cut off my research: no experimental mice, virtually no chemicals-biochemicals, no skilled laboratory assistants... All of this, naturally, in preparation for my firing – which was engineered just a year before I reached retirement age (60 years in Russia).

During the judicial process I defended myself, although I consulted with a lawyer out of court. The CIA-FSB-Cancer Center administration had fired me illegally, which compelled the judge to reinstate me for the few remaining months before I reached age 60.

In spite of the positive court decision and the requirement to reinstate me immediately (“Решение суда подлежит немедленному исполнению»), the Cancer Center administration illegally delayed obeying the court order for weeks.

Finally, I got “back to work” - which had no practical significance whatsoever. Everything was gummed up and thwarted as before. Even worse.

I never had any hopes that it would be otherwise. I went to court simply to defend my honor and integrity – which is important when one is continually under attack by the vicious, lying and cruel secret political police.

On my 60th birthday, with my Russian pension documents in hand, I resigned from the Cancer Center.

Half Of American Renters Struggle With Unaffordable Housing Costs

Home prices have reached peak unaffordability, as a lack of supply and already exorbitant household debt inflates prices and constrains consumers' ability to buy.

As more members of the middle class rent instead of becoming homeowners, the average national rent has soared, with housing costs rising across the US, particularly in costly urban markets. One consequence of this renting boom is that households that rent have become increasingly burdened by these higher costs. And in a report published this week, Apartment List analyzed publicly available Census data to determine how the cost burden of rents has shifted over the past decade.

While the percentage of US renters who qualify as "cost burdened" – i.e. those who spend more than 30% of their total income on rent - has ticked lower since peaking in 2014 (it currently stands at 49.5%), a trend that was largely the result of higher-income professionals choosing to rent instead of buy, the total number of cost-burdened renters has increased by more than 3 million since 2007.

Roughly half of US renters are spending more than 30% of their income on housing costs, while nearly one in four are spending more than half their income on rent.

While poorer consumers in markets like New York City have been especially squeezed by rising rents driven by the uninterrupted upward trajectory in home prices since the crisis, the median renter qualifies for cost-burdened status in 20 of the 25 largest metro areas.

The shortage of affordable housing in areas of economic opportunity remains one of the most pressing economic struggles facing US renters. Many middle-class renters, burdened as they are by an aggregate $1.5 trillion in student loans, one constituent of the record household debt burden facing Americans, are already drowning in debt, and unwilling - or unable - to take out a mortgage, particularly in an environment where interest rates are expected to rise.

Again bottling up promising research...


Just as in the case of thymidine (see posts 40 and 41 in the series “Dictatorship USA – A Personal History,” there was no chance that my scientific work at the All-Union/Russian Cancer Center would be utilized by other researchers, developed further or employed in treating cancer patients.


It cannot be excluded that these publications would have lain fallow in any case, but in my situation the CIA/KGB/FSB made sure that no one would touch my scientific labors. A summary of that work and its potential importance follows.


Practical method for testing potential anticancer drugs on human tumors in vivo#...


Preclinical testing of the effectiveness of anticancer drugs in vivo remains an important priority in developing improved therapies for oncological illnesses. Evaluation of drug activity against human tumors is far preferable to using murine (mouse) tumors, as the latter often do not predict for clinical efficacy, while the results of drug test against human cancers implanted in nude or immunosuppressed mice have demonstrated good correlation with the treatment of patients.


Measuring the growth inhibition of human tumors implanted in the subrenal capsule (SRC) of nude mice provides a quantitative method of determining actual anticancer drug results. However, the expense and labor required for maintaining pathogen-free nude mice colonies have seriously restricted the feasibility of conducting large-scale screening with these animals.


In unmanipulated immunocompetent mice, the large and rapid infiltration of host cells following xenotransplantation of human cancers makes it virtually impossible to reliably estimate antitumor drug effect, and this approach therefore has been largely abandoned.


Studies in my laboratory at the Cancer Center in Moscow showed that human tumors can be serially passaged in the SRC of normal mice immunosuppressed with a single dose of non-lethal whole-body irradiation. In these animals the antitumor activity of standard doses of anticancer agents can be readily determined##,###.


Using genetically immunocompetent mice as human tumor hosts would greatly lower the expense of and would facilitate the wide-range and intensive pre-clinical testing of new drugs.

Moreover, it cannot be excluded that the methodology developed in my laboratory could be extended and further refined to routinely assessing the anticancer activity of established (and new) agents against patients' tumors after surgical excision. Even in nude mice, many human tumor specimens obtained after surgery have not been found to proliferate well in the SRC or in other body sites and therefore could not serve to routinely evaluate anticipated antitumor activity for patients.


The simple and practicable method I developed could be well adapted to exploring approaches to enhancing the attachment and growth of human surgical specimens in the SRC (or elsewhere), possibly by enhancing immunosuppression with allogenic or xenogenic liver tissue#### or with other agents (including those which might enhance biological attachment of the excised tumor specimen to host tissue, stimulate angiogenesis, etc.).


Successful efforts along these lines would constitute a practical method of custom-designing post-operative therapy for individual patients, thus sparing unneeded toxicity##### and prolonging life or even curing the stricken individual.

The advantages are obvious of pursuing the lines of research I developed. Yet nothing further has been done and there is no obvious perspective that this work will be followed up. Especially as the CIA/FSB ordered that I be fired without cause at the Cancer Center in Moscow (see next post).

With Corruption Like This, It's No Wonder So Many Pension Funds Are Insolvent

Last week, the head of a New York state pension fund found herself a new job.

Vicki Fuller, the former head of New York’s $209 billion fund, now earns $275,000 per year working part time for a natural gas group called The Williams Companies - good work if you can get it.

It’s noteworthy that when Ms. Fuller ran her state pension fund, she invested $110 million of taxpayer money to buy bonds issued by none other than The Williams Companies.

Bear in mind that Moody’s, the credit rating agency, downgraded Williams’ financial outlook to “negative” because of the company’s high leverage and risk. The fund that Ms. Fuller managed also voted in favor of huge, multi-million dollar pay packages for senior executives of The Williams Companies even though the stock price was dropping.

So maybe it’s just a crazy coincidence that Ms. Fuller left her job at the state pension fund and took an extremely lucrative part-time job THE SAME WEEK with The Williams Companies.

This is so blatant… it’s the same stink.

Bear in mind that most pension funds are already in terrible condition to begin with, even before you factor in potential malfeasance by the bureaucrats who manage them. Overall, public pension funds in the US are short $7 TRILLION on what they have promised to pay out to retirees.

If you include Social Security that amount balloons beyond $50 trillion. And that’s just the US.

The World Economic Forum said the total global pension shortfall was $70 TRILLION in 2015. They expect it to reach $400 trillion by 2050.

Pension funds across nearly every major economy on the planet are seriously in the red… it’s merely a question of how severe the problem is.

Japan, for example, borrows billions each year to prop up its pension fund, going deeper and deeper into debt. Some countries have started to make major pension reforms– Russia is one notable example. Vladimir Putin recently raised the retirement age.

And that’s precisely the point: pension benefits are long term promises that people have spent decades dreaming about. And for a lot of people, it really is their only hope.

They work terrible jobs that they hate for bosses they despise earning pitiful salaries for decades, all for the dream that one day they’ll be able to retire on the pension that the government promised them.

And yet, the arithmetic is completely obvious: a lot of major pension funds pay out more in benefits than they generate in tax revenue and investment income.

That’s simply not sustainable. Eventually the fund will run out of money. In the United States, the Social Security Administration has gone so far as to indicate the YEAR in which its gigantic trust funds will run out of money – and it’s only about 15 years away.

And of course, it doesn’t help when government bureaucrats who control public pension funds receive tremendous personal benefit for steering taxpayer money towards bad investments.

Insights Into The Secret Political Police 12A

Sabotage in the laboratory...

Nothing was ever easy for me in the All-Union Cancer Center in Moscow.

To begin with, it took several months – almost a year – before I could even begin research. The CIA-KGB had ordered the Center leadership to conduct a massive, time-consuming “reorganization” in the Institute (part of the Center) in which I was destined to work.

Finally, personnel were assigned to the lab I formally headed up, including a certain Володя Бергольц who was designated as my main “coworker” and translator, given that I was only in the process of learning Russian and Володя spoke halting English. For several more months, our laboratory had virtually no research chemicals, biochemicals or scientific equipment and there were even difficulties in obtaining experimental mice for the work. Clearly, the CIA-KGB designed these impediments and frustrations as an additional impetus to push me back to the United States.

Just before leaving the US, I had managed to maintain and then send a frozen vial of the BRO human melanoma cells I had characterized in Houston#. These cells had arrived in Moscow and were being kept in vitro (frozen in liquid nitrogen) and in vivo in nude mice hosts which were poorly maintained, chronically sickly and thin. (Nude mice are genetically immunodeficient and thus much more susceptible to murine infections.)

I began work with the few normal (immunocompetent) mice at my disposal and found that the BRO human melanoma could become lethal for xenogenic mice by pre-irradiating the animals with non-lethal doses of irradiation (to depress host immunity)##.

As I was preparing the manuscript of this work for scientific publication, Володя for no coherent reason suddenly raised a storm of protest about submitting this research and threatened unspecified consequences if I did so. I resisted; the work was published and my “helpmate” Бергольц heatedly left my laboratory, slandering me to whomever he could. Such were the machinations designed by the CIA-KGB aimed at preventing me from publishing any scientific research.

Shortly thereafter, this CIA-KGB stooge attained his reward, by being welcomed in his beloved America. A person fitting the description of Бладимир Бергольц is currently listed in “Одноклассники» - «Родился 18 декабря 1950 (67 лет), Живет в Рочестер, Работал в Онкологический научный центр Академии мед.наук”. “Рочестер» is evidently Rochester, New York in the USA.

Manifold difficulties notwithstanding, anti-cancer scientific work continued in the laboratory I headed. We found that non-toxic doses of whole body irradiation of normal mice allowed quantitative analysis of drug efficacy against human tumors implanted in the sub-renal capsule### (see post 12B of this series for a more detailed explanation).


But here again, I faced the prospect of serious disruption by other CIA-KGB stooges sent into my laboratory:

'unable' to do scientific research.


“As Марк и Ольга did not 'want' to become co-authors, I offered to mention their contribution in an acknowledgement in the article. If I did that, Шлянкевич warned, they would then write an angry note to the publisher, decrying the acknowledgement!


“It did not take long for me to understand what was happening: this was an attempt to sow doubts and prevent me from publishing my scientific work. I had had experience with this psychological warfare ploy in the US:

У директора не было никаких научных оснований приуменьшать значимость моих исследований, и он воздерживался от умаления моих работ. Но своим поведением он давал понять, что результаты моих исследований не заслуживают публикаций.
