Full-time collaborators...
In the United States, there is a several-thousand member army of essentially full-time collaborators-agents of the US secret political police (FBI, CIA, etc.). Thousands but not millions. Directing and financing this army by the US secret political police is a manageable task, which may cost on the order of $1-2 billion annually.
In the US, I was an (at first, totally naive) organizer in the so-called “Communist Party USA”. The “Party” had a couple hundred or so (only in this one totally fake organization!) full-time personnel as “Party” organizers, officials, youth organizers, journalists, etc. The “Party” clearly had no internal sources of funds to support this substantial entourage of agents. The support money had to come directly from the US secret political police; there was simply no other source of funds.
Add to this fake “communist” organization all the trotskyite, maoist, socialist, anarchist, libertarian, civil rights, civil liberties, peace, womens' rights, environmental etc., etc. groups and you arrive at a figure of perhaps 10,000 – 20,000 full-time professional stooges. Manageable, without an excessive organizational and financial burden for the US secret political police. Sure, it is still lots of money, but so what? The US secret political police are very, very well financed.
A life-time sinecure...
But what about the additional army of some millions of collaborators who operate on-call, on a part-time basis? These people have their own, everyday non-political work and only participate now-and-then “as required” – to attend meetings and demonstrations, to join parties and organizations and to “espouse” the views that they falsely “support”.
To put this vast millions-man army of collaborators on the government-secret police payroll would not only be an enormous expense for the government, but in addition a monumental, burdensome organizational task for the secret polical police.
For these “part-timers”, what happens instead is the following: the US secret political police intefere in the very process of American economic and professional life to provide their collaborators with an improved station in society.
I have already noted how young finks who worked in the Stehlin Foundation were guaranteed highly desirable admission to medical school, where it would be anticipated that THROUGHOUT THEIR LIVES they would earn an income far out-stripping the average American. This enormous boost in their personal lives was not simply “payment” for their slaving at the Stehling Foundation – in itself, a rather minor endeavor and a test of sorts. More importantly, it was totally understood – by both the secret political police – «benefactors” and by the “lucky” recipients of such “generosity” that these collaborators would be lifetime bound to the political police and permanently carry out their orders. These stooges were vetted preliminarily for that purpose. They would then earn a good, considerably better than average, living as medical doctors (a well-paying profession in the US).
I have also noted that many secret political police stooges get life-time positions at US universities and colleges. These are permanent sinecures, where these fake “leftists” and fake-whatevers secure an easy life-long position and are always on call to do their pernicious and fake “duty” for US imperialism. Including trapping and ratting-on honest students and others who seek out genuine support and cooperation of other “progressives”.
But this principle goes far beyond educational institutions. The US secret political police massively intrude into the entrails of American economic life to benefit their subordinates. Fink-workers are rewarded with privileged, higher-paying positions than they would otherwise obtain. Stooges are set up in business, able to avoid the most of the hindrances and corruption that plague US commerce. The spouses and children of finks are also often rewarded with an improved status in life.
US imperialist finks also populate charitable and humanitarian institutions of American society. The person with a full-time position at a Planned Parenthood outfit, at an organization supporting, for instance, the deaf, the blind, invalid veterans, the Red Cross etc. etc. is more than likely a stooge of the US secret political police. Most of the remuneration for these “services” comes from the organizations themselves, which may also receive partial or complete government funding.
How do the US secret political police accomplish these “economic” missions? They simply inform necessary parties to demand that such-and-such be done for the political police stooges – in the name of “national security” interests, for instance. What “reasonable” person would refuse the “requests”/demands from the secret political police? That would be a dangerous and futile challenge to the all-powerful and absolutely ruthless gendarmes of US imperialism!
One of the observations I made about “Communist Party” members when I was in the “Party” was the secure and comfortable life-styles they all had. This, in spite of the contrived McCarthyite anti-communist hysteria that not long before had swept through the United States. In virtually all cases, “Party” members had more prosperous lives than most of their counterparts in society. I could not find an obvious explanation then; now I can: the US secret political police provided them with an improved economic station.
The US secret political police are thus an IMPORTANT FACTOR in the very economic life of the country. The superior position of their stooges is a direct result of the US secret political police demanding – and receiving – a privileged status for their accomplices. Whether that be admission to medical or law school or prestigious universities, whether that be higher-paying employment or establishment in business, etc., etc. It hardly need be added, that if an accomplice would somehow revert to honesty (does that ever happen??), the penalties could be decisive: loss of privileged position, poverty, persecution – whatever “required.”
Thus, the US secret police have at their bidding (a) a professional army of many thousands of full-time stooges, who play-act the role of more-or-less “radical” or “progressive” or whatever opponents of the US political system; and (b) a huge army - numbering in the millions (probably low millions) - of “part-time” accomplices who operate “on call” for specific activities demanded by their secret political police superiors.
If the average honest American believes that he or she has a fair chance of getting ahead on his or her own – sorry about that. The US secret political police “uber alles”!
